| Description / विवरण | It is a stone block, showing two erotic scenes. The right side of the block carries a male and a female human figures in the sitting posture. The male is seated stretching both the legs forward horizontally on the seat. The female is seated in utkatikasana on the lap of the male, facing the same direction. Both the hands of the male are placed on the bosom of the female. Both of them are depicted in embracing, kissing and copulating posture. This type of embrace may be identified as kshraniar. The kiss enjoyed by the couple should be called tongue kiss . The sculpture depicts a beautiful scene of love of a young couple. The second scene on the same block shows a man and a woman in copulating posture. They are in that posture while seated raising their front legs up reaching the shoulder level. The weight of the leaning bodies of both the figures are supported by their front hands. In the same posture on other amorous couple is seen in a separate block described separately. The embrace may be called krhiranira and the copulating posture may be called sampati. |
