| Description / विवरण | This is another set of iron padlocks of different size and shape, used for securing doors of large and small secular buildings within the Bidar fort.These locks are cylindrical or barrel shaped.The locks exhibit two to four circular reinforcements around the mantle.Two of the specimen depicts decorations on the mantle and the segment below is in the shape of elephant trunk.The top most perforated reinforcing ring is connected to the perforated arm of the mantle at the bottom by a vertical shackle.The perforation at the top appeares to be used for inserting the key either to open or close the padlock.Five locks exhibit decorated nails. These locks are heavy and rusted. |
