| Description / विवरण | |
| Description / विवरण | This is part of a sculpture in high relief.Due to weathering the details are worn out. However the extant details available such as the left tilting posture of goddess while stamping the back of demon Mahisha and the position of trident held in the right hand, indicates that it is the bust of Mahishamardhini or Durga. An austere halo behind the head indicates the divinity attached to the figure.Despite erosion of surface of extant figure, faint outline shows she wore a crown and decked with karnakundalas and vakshahara as ornaments. She appears to have had four arms. The lower half of the sculpture is missing. Stylistically may be ascribed to early-chalukyan period. |
