| Description / विवरण | This weathered sculpture portrays Ganesha seated in sukhasana.A small two tiered lotus petalled crown with a conical top and a decorated band at the bottom adorns the head. The large fan like ears and prominent protruded forehead decorated with hara is noteworthy.Eyes are provided sideways.He wears a vakshahara of bells.Faint remains of naga tied across his pot belly which is almost upto ground level is discernible.He is two handed.Right hand rests on the folded right knee holding probably broken tusk whereas left hand holds bowl with modaka on which rests the left turned trunk.The incipient features clearly indicate the early stages of depiction of Ganesha during the early chalukyan period. |
