| Description / विवरण | In this sculpture Ganesha is seated in sukhasana. He wears a tiered crown with a beaded band at the bottom.His forehead is narrow and fan like ears heve shallow depression at the centre.Eyes are depicted horizontally with slender eyebrows.He is four armed. Right lower arm holds broken tusk and the right upper hand holds goad Ankusha .His upper left hand holds noose pasa and the lower left hand holds bowl with modaka sweet cake and the left turned trunk rests on the bowl. Naga is tied across the pot belly and wears a lower garment.Below his legs a low relief of hie celetial vehicle Rat is depicted.On the stylistic grounds this imsge may be ascribed to the Rashtrakuta period. |
