| Description / विवरण | The Sculptural fragment depicts four graphs- Sukra, sani, Rahu and Ketu, carved inside the niches of the pillared pavilions crowned by pidha- mundis. In between each pidhamundi is carved a lotus. Sukra and Sani are seated in padmasana over padmapitha. They both carry akashamala in their right hand while the pot in the left hand is broken. Rahu is depicted as a ferocious half bust figure with a grinning face and protruding eyes. He holds crescent moons in his hands. Ketu has a serpentine lower part and is depicted with both hands raised. Sukra, Sani and Ketu have bejeweled high crowns and their heads. Rahu wears an ornamental tiara and his head is distinguished by peculiar hair style. |
