| Description / विवरण | The set consists of three copper plates attached to a broken copper ring half of which is lost. At the end of the other half of the ring is soldered the royal seal of bronze. Which is very much corroded. Traces of the motifs are slightly visible on its counter sunk surface, bearing in relief, the seated Gajalaksmi in the padmasana posture, flanked by an elephant on either side, with rising stems. The fist plate is inscribed on its inner face only while the second and third have writing on both side. The first plate contains 17 lines. The second plate first side contains 17 lines and second side contains 8 lines. The third plate obverse side contains 17 lines, reverse side contains 16 lines. There are altogether 75 lines of writing on three plates. The language is Sanskrit, and script is Eastern variety of northern alphabet. The charter records the grant by Mahabhagupta, of the village Agaravadanula in favour of Govindakara of the Krusnatreya gotra. |
