| Description / विवरण | The charter consists of three copper plates. They are strung together on a copper ring. A circular brass seal is soldered on the joint of the ring. The upper part of the surface of the seal contains the figure of a lion depicted as moving towards the left having its face turned to the front and its tail is curled above its back. Below the emblem is the legend in two line reading 1. Sri-si 2. Njadevasya. The first and the third plates contain one side of writing each while the second has writing on both the sides. The first plate contains 9 line, the second plate contains obverse side 10 lines and reverse side 9 lines, and the third plate contains 13 lines. There are all together 41 lines. The language is Sanskrit and script is Eastern variety of Northern class of alphabet. The charter, issued feom the victorious city of Vanjulvaka it records the grant of the village Deuladda in favour of the Brahman named Lumbadeva of the Kaundinya gotra. |
