| Description / विवरण | This is a single copper plate with circular seal is soldered to the left side of the seal bears in relief a figure which is not clear but appears like a bull being followed by a line of writing at its bottom. Unfortunately the writing on the seal is completely obliterated and nothing can be traced out of it. On the whole plate contains 51lines of writing. 26 in obverse and 25 in reverse. Some letters are being obliterated due to corrosion. The language is Sanskrit and the script is northern class of alphabet. The plate records the purchase and grant of the village Svetaballika by Maharaja Achyuta, the feudatory in charge of Dandabhukti, under Maharajadhiraja Gopachandra in favour of the Arya-Sangha in order to built Bodhi Padraka Mahavihara. |
