| Description / विवरण | Fragment of a fine image of a female figure of Rashtrakuta period with its characteristic physiognomy.The sculptured head despite the damage particularly to nose,eyes and lips still retains the artistic features.The head is decorated with a fan like protrusion at the middle and the rear part is decorated with floral design resembling a lotus flower. The broad forehead,wide opened eyes, broad nose and proportionate lips with in the round face testifies the sculptural beauty. Ears are decorated with karnakundalas. On stylistic grounds this sculptural fragment may be ascribed to Rashtrakuta period. |
