| Description / विवरण | This is part of an door jamb decorated with five vertical sections or shakas decked with rows of lotus petals,yalis,pilasters, row of human figures standing one above the other and diamonds.The base part of the door jamb is sculptured with the relief of a vaishnava dvarapala flanked by a chauri whisker bearer shown standing next to him to the left and another female figure standing to the right respectively.The vaishnava dvarapala is shown holding a lotus flower in his lower right hand where as right upper hand probably holding shanka and his face is obliterated.Lower left hand resting on gada or mace is damaged and the upper left hand is shown holding a chakra .He is bejeweled.The chauri bearer holds the chauri in her right hand where as in left hand she holds a phala . Her face is obliterated.The female figure to the right of the dvarapala holds phala in her left hand where as right hand is damaged.All are shown standing in tribhanga.Depiction of scroll above the figures is noteworthy. |
