| Description / विवरण | This is part of an door jamb decorated with five vertical sections or shakas decked with rows of diamonds,scrolls,pilsters, yalis and lotus petals.The base part of the door jamb is sculptured with the relief of a Shiva dvarapala flanked by two chauri whisker bearers shown standing next to him and a male and a female figure standing next to the chauri bearers to the left and right side respectively.The Shiva dvarapala is shown holding a damaru in the right upper hand where as rests his lower right hand on the hilt of gada or mace.Lower left hand is in abhaya and the upper left hand holds a snake.He is bejeweled.The two chauri bearers hold the chauri in their right hand where as in left hand they hold phala .The male figure to the left of chauri bearer holds a cylindrical object. His face is obliterated.The female figure to the right of the chauri bearer holds phala in her left hand where as right hand is shown resting near the thigh.All are shown standing in tribhanga.Depiction of scroll above the figures is noteworthy. |
