| Description / विवरण | The two right arms of the pot-bellied god are missing. The upper and lower left arms hold the discus and the conch. He wears an upavita, a narrow scarf and a vanamala in addition to the usual necklaces and other ornaments. No crown is present, the hair is dressed in curled ringlets and the lotus has a beaded edge. To the side is a seated worshipper in anjali mudra and a standing male attendant carrying a cauri. De Mallmann, Les enseignements iconographiques, pp. 32-35, has suggested that images of this type, particularly when the crown is present, may be representations of Adi Vasudeva and not Vamana. |
