| Description / विवरण | The god is seated in ardhaparyankasana posture, a yogapatta around the pendant leg which rests on a lotus flower. Uma is perched on his left knee. He holds a serpent and a trisula in the two upper hands, the lower left hand caresses the Goddess under the chin, while the lower right hand rests on the yogapatta. The goddess turns her face towards her consort, resting an arm on his thigh. Both her feet rest on lotuses. Her girdle consists of a simple chain and the hair is done in a bun at the back of the head from which escapes a long braid of hair. To Uma s Left is a guardian figure leaning on a mace, while below the couple, from left to right, are the figures of a guardian, seated Ganesa, an ascetic with hands raised, Nandi, and Karttikeya riding on a peacock. Above are flying Vidyadharas. The workmanship is provincial. |
