| Description / विवरण | Image of lord Buddha carved on a heavy stone slab seated in Padmasana in Dhyanamudra on a platform. On both sides of the Buddha image, two attendants are shown standing on separate platforms in tribhanga. The right-side attendant is holding a fly whisk in his right hand and a stalk of lotus flower in his left hand. The left-side attendant is holding a fly whisk in his right hand and a pot-like object in his left hand. Buddha s image is shown with hair in ringlets with Ushnisa. the attendant s hair is bound with a figure of Dhyani Buddha in front. Below the platform of the image, two lions are shown seated facing the opposite direction and a deer and wheel are in the centre. The left side of the lion is very badly mutilated and broken which is mended by Araldite. The left knee of the buddha image, the fly whisk of the right-side attendant and both the hands and fly whisk of the left-side attendant is damaged. the faces of the Buddha image and attendants are defaced. At the bottom of the platform (below the lion) an inscription is carved, which is damaged. |
