| Description / विवरण | The decorative block is cuboid in shape carved out of a granite boulder. There are carvings on the frontal. On the top surface, there are socket-like depressions and metal clamp impression are carved. The panel consists of human figurines that are carved inside shallow niches representing pillars inferring the event happened inside a closed space. It comprises of two males and a female. There are superficial arches sculpted on top. From the left to right, two males are found in a demonstration of authority. One of them is holding a sword on his right hand, grabbing by the head of the other figure with his left hand indicating sheer display of power. While the other male appeared to be in a state of pleading. Both of them are seen to be adorned with elongated oval shaped ear hoops (kundala) and bracelets (Kangana). They are bare-chested however, there are girdles around their waists and the antariyas in between their thighs are prominent. Upon observation, the body of the swordman is positioned in motion, forcibly dragging along the defenceless male with him. To the extreme right corner, there is a female frantically walking behind the two male figures. A variety of ornaments are seen to adorned on her such as circular kundalas, beaded necklaces (ratnavali), bracelets (Valaya) and anklets (nupura). The hair is tied into a large bun. The girdle (mekhala) is seemingly around the waist and the outline of her garment can be found to run down from her hip to ankles. Her hands are raised above in utter despair. There are tilaks on the forehead of the figurines. Their feet lack finesse compared to the rest of their body parts. They look toneless and devoid of toes. |
