| Description / विवरण | Chamunda seated in ardhaparyankasana or maharaja lilasana the right leg bent inwards, while the left leg hangs down freely and rests on the pitha. The head is decorated with jata makuta dishevelled hair flowing down up to the shoulders on either side and looks like a crescentic cap on the top. She has four hands. The right rear hand holds the trident while the left rear is broken. Front right hand holds the sword while the front left holds a bowl broken . Neck is adorned with necklace. She is decked in beaded yagnopavita, waist band, keyuras and bangles. The waist is slim. Drapery consists of loin cloth tied to a mekhala. Below, on the pitha is a jackal or corpse lying abraded . The face is oval in shape with tusks. Seems to belong to the Chalukya idiom. |
