| Description / विवरण | The scroll is broken in two, but is retained in its entirety; and most probably was a section of the innermost band of a temple doorway or a niche. In this instance, the thick stem of the lotus is obscured in a froth foliation, its path suggested by the swing of frilled loops. It is, in fact, difficult to tell where water ends and plant forms begin, no distinction between the two considered necessary except for an occasional lotus bud. The central portion of the slab is enclosed on three sides by a border of open faced rosettes with tiny buds in between. The narrow margin below is plainly dressed. |
