| Description / विवरण | The present piece portraying a well-modelled hand with a ring are illustrations of this category of sculptural terracottasfrom the site. The present specimen reveals the thumb and the second finger. The portrayal of the hand with its sensitive modelling outlining the contours of the bones, the nails and the flesh is remarkable for the realistic impression. The careful modelling of the terracotta achieved after it has been made on a wheel-turned base imparts a vibrant character to the piece, frequently encountered in the terracotta assemblage from the site. From what we know so far it is difficult to suggest whether the two fragments constituted a single sculptural specimens |
