| Description / विवरण | The figure seated on a low chair or stool. The intricately designed hairband, circular earrings, two heavy necklaces and bangles are some of the distinctive features of the piece. Equally folds of the sleeves of the garment. The garment is depicted as left open at the front, thereby baring the corpulent figure. The headgear of the figure is peculiar and consists of a high ornamental cross-ribboned object placed above the forehead with two parallel vertical bands. The figure is holding a circular object in his right hand. It probably represents the guardian deity of wealth, Kubera or his Buddhist counterpart Jambhala. |
