| Description / विवरण | Mahishasuramardini standing with her right leg placed firmly on the ground and the left leg on the body of Mahisha. Devi held a trident in her fore right hand and piercing into on the hind part of the animal. She holds the head of rakshasa , emerging out of the animal with her fore left hand. Chakra and sankha are seen in her rear hands. At the bottom of the panel on right side is her vahana, the lion. Devi is adorned with a decorated headgear, ratna and makara kundalas, kuchabandha, keyuras, wrist-band and purnoruka extended upto the knees. Her face is expressive and exquisitely modelled with thick lips, short wide eyes, thick eye brows, oval face, fleshy cheeks and pointed chin. |
