| Description / विवरण | Astabhuja Mahishasuramardini standing with her right leg on the body of the Mahisha and the left leg kept firmly on the ground. She is shown trampling Mahisha who is emerging out of the animal with the trident holding with her fore right hand and her fore left hand placed on the head of Mahisha. She holds khadga, snake, ghanta bell attached to a shield with her left rear hands and arrow, sankha and sword with her right rear hands. A pair of quiers are seen on back side of the shoulders. She has a sharp features with long nose, thick lower lip and broad eyes. She wears a long bindi on the forehead, kiritamakuta, oranamental broad hara, yajnopavita, makara kundalas, keyuras, wrist bands, mekhala with hanging tassels of drapery and kankanas. Her Vahana, lion is seen at the bottom on the right side. Halo is shown prominently behind the head. |
