| Description / विवरण | Seated image of Chamundi, one of the saptamatrika deities. She is seated in virasana posture with left leg bent inwards while the right leg broken. The visible left hand holds the trident. The head is adorned with jatamakuta surmounted by a skull on the top and the hair done into jatas falling on either side. There is head band over the forehead. The ears are ornamented with patra and makarakundalas. There is beaded necklace around the kantha below which is a long yajnopavita in three strands containing skulls. Also there is katisutra around the thigh. She is dressed in short lower garment and a kuchabandha on the breasts. The arms are decorated with serpent hooded keyuras, armlets, bangles and wristlets. Below the pitha is the vehicle jackal with human head. |
