| Description / विवरण | Lakshmi Narayana seated in ardhaparyankasana posture on a circular pedestal over a square pitha. He holds chakra in his upper right hand and kept his lower right hand in abhayamudra. Sankha in his upper left hand. His lower left hand placed over the shoulder of Lakshmi as in embrance. Devi is seated on the left lap of Deva. She holds padma in her left hand, while her right hand placed on back of Deva as in embrace. He wears decorated kiritamakuta, kanthahara, long necklace hanging between the breasts and tied laterally on both sides and knotted on the back, patrakundalas, purnoruka tied with jewelled waist-band, bhahuvalayas, anklets, wristlets, ringlets to thumb, beaded pattas below the ankles. He has round face, long snubbed nose, thick lips, open eyes and fleshy cheeks. Devi is also richly ornamented with kiritamakuta, purnoruka, haras, anklets, wrist-bands etc. There is decorated prabhamandala depicted with kirtimukha at the top and a motif of Garuda at its base. On the back side of the icon is a five hooded naga with its coiled tail rested on the pedestal. |
