| Description / विवरण | A semi-circular panel depicted with Gajalakshmi motif. She is shown seated in padmasana posture on lotus pedestal, holding lotus buds in her hands. She wears high karandamakuta, patrakundalas, beaded kanthahara and a long necklace hanging between the breasts and beaded anklets. She has oval face with long snubbed nose, thick lower lip and fleshy cheeks. She is flanked by standing caparisoned elephants pouring water with their upraised trunks holding water vessels. There is abraded label inscription on the horizontal band below the figure in 11th 12th Century A.D. Telugu - Kannada characters. On the back side of the panel is depicted with Maheswara at the centre flanked by Vishnu on the left and Brahma on the right side. Maheswara seated in padmasana posture on a pitha depicted with a Nandi facing right and four petaled design on either side. He is represented with four hands, holding trident and damaru with snake in his upper hands. Akshamala not clear in his left lower hand and his right hand in abhaya-mudra. He wears tri-stranded haras, high ornamented karandamakuta, patrakundalas, chest-band, yajnopavita, purnoruka tied with waist-band. He has oval face with slightly thick lips, long snubbed nose, almond shaped eyes and fleshy cheeks. Vishnu on the left side is shown in anjali turned towards right, seated on a padmapitha in padmasana posture. He wears karandamakuta, armlets, wrist-bands, purnoruka tied with waist-bands, yajnopavita and patrakundalas. On the padmapitha at the centre is a figure of flying garuda in anjali-mudra. Brahma on the right side is shown as similar to Vishnu in all respects. His vehicle Hamsa is shown prominently on padmapitha. The entire scene is shown with in a torana, supported by pilaster motif. Upper part of the panel is broken and missing. |
