| Description / विवरण | |
| Description / विवरण | In this block of stone, there are two figures of Apsar 257 s holding lotuses in their hands. The figures to the right is seen with only the right hand holding lotuses with both the hands. The face of the figure to the right sculptured just at the end of the block of stone. Therefore, it is abundantly clear that her left hand was carved in a separate block of stone, carrying more figures of Apsar 257 s and joined together making one rupapattika. Both the figures are depicted with a smile on the lips. The body of the figures are not shown. The tilakas on the foreheads of the figures are prominently depicted. From the treatment of the faces of the figures of Apsar 257 s, it is clear that the sculpture is of high merit. To depict a smiling face is a difficult job for a sculptor. It proves that the sculptor was really a master in his subject. |
