| Description / विवरण | A large section of the plain halo has broken off and the portion below the knees is missing. The God, in udicayavesa, holds a bunch of lotus flowers with short stalks in each hand. He wears a short cylindrical crown high over the head revealing ringlets of hair which fall over the forehead and to the shoulders. The jewellery consists of earrings an ekavali a necklace made up of double strings of beads with a central plaque an avyanga which passes over a pearl upavita and a chain girdle, the loose end of which forms a loop between the legs to dangle over the right thigh. The edge of the tunic is brocaded and a baldric is slung across the thighs. Cf. Cat. 398, Pl. CXXVI which is very similar in style and date. |
