| Description / विवरण | About the donation of land grant of Brahmotora. This three plate inscribed set of copper plates bound together by a copper ring with the royal elephant seal soldered on it. It is recorded on examination is found to be a land grant charter issued by Maharajadhiraja Shri Harisavarma,son of shri Dhatavarmadeva, who again is the son of Shri Mahadhiraja Sri Palakavarmmadeva belonging to the royal house of founded by Salastambha C17th A.D. of the same Bhaumnaraka origin. Mhadhiraja Sri Harisavarmadeva, 6th king in order of succession, belonging to the royal house founded by Salastambha and as evident from records of the time of Harjaravarma, vanamalavarman and Bala varman III ,is sometimes called shri Harisa Sri Harsavarmadeva as well. Incidentally, this is the only copper plate charter of the time of king Mahadhiraja Sri Harsavarmadeva recorded so far. Only four sides i.e. the inner side of the first plate, the either side of the middle plate and the inner side of the third plate are inscribed containing together a lot of 49 lines of writing. The inscription is written in elegant Sanskrit language in classical style with a mixture of both verse and prose. The near oval shape elephant seal attached to the ring contains four lines of writing with the legend punyabhibrdha ddha ye-m 257 ta-pitro r 257 tmanaica vamsa-hite-s 257 sano petaratma-sri-narisa-va rmmadeven |
