| Description / विवरण | This is a copper plate inscription of 8 lines of King Subandhu of Mahishmati. The characters written are in Gupta Brahmi. The copper plate consists of no hole and also there is no indication of a seal having ever been attested to it. The name of the king is clearly mentioned in the margin of the plate, as Sri Subandhu. The plate records the excavation of the caves during King Subandhu s reign. It is also mentioned, that the copper plate was used in respect of his father and mother. In it, a donation made for the maintenance of Viharas is mentioned. |
