| Description / विवरण | This throne oil lamp is elaborately decorated with figures and floral ornamentation. On the back lustration of Goddess Lakshmi by elephants is depicted. The panel is surrounded on the two sides by leafy creepers, all of them meeting on top behind a Kirtimukha. The back has a pointed top. Two attendant figures holding smaller lamps flank the Lakshmi panel and one human figure is shown right in front of the V shape projection in the middle of the lamp. The posture of the figure is not clear due to the weatherworn condition of the lamp. The object has a deep base that suggests its function as an oil lamp. |
