| Description / विवरण | This is a Talismanic shirt of the Mughul period, in a very much deteriorated condition. The shirt has prayers written in it in Nataliq characters. Talismanic shirts were very much in vogue throughout the Islamic empires. Such shirts are believed to be offer guidance and protection to the wearer. It was believed to be imbued with protective powers and may have been meant to be worn under armor in battle. |
