| Description / विवरण | Trench DX- 2, Stratum Pit 2 Sealed by layer 2 These are two clay mould made of terracotta joined oppositely with clay in a stack. The depression in the mould suggests the figurine of Kartikaya God on one of its side and other side bears a depression of a deity whose one hand is raised and other hand is placed on the waist. The Kartikaya God shown standing holding with a spear. The Vahana of Kartikaya shown near to his feet. And the other deity is shown with a Purana Ghata and a group of Devotees on either sides. Moreover, the inscriptions and the beaded pattern around the depression for giving prominence to the figurines in the mould. These coin moulds was used to cast coins for currency purpose. Surface is rough and colour is brick brown. |
