| Description / विवरण | |
| Description / विवरण | The extant fragment depicts two scenes from the hagiography of Bodhisatva siddhartha. These are the ascetism of bodhisatva with fasting and the latter approaching the Bodhi seat. In the upper panel, he is represented in skeletal form meditating on a pedestal. Two figures are shown standing to his left. The second panel obviously a continuation of the first one, shows bodhisatva approaching the bodhi seat to his left with the resolve to attain enlightenment. A figure with folded hands could be seen emerging out of the seat underneath the bodhi tree presumably its personified form. The tree in turn is held by a female figure below with upraised arms. Four distinct figures witness this event behind the bodhisatva. |
