| Description / विवरण | This is part of a veneering member used for decorating the wall of a temple of early-chalukyan period.The top portion contains a offset decorated with upturned lotus petals carrying a frame having a row of bead design. At the bottom, part of a pouncing mythical griffin with eagle like beak, a fang protruding from the jaw is depicted.It has protruded eye ball and above the eye a short horn turning slightly backward is shown.Neck portion depicts rows of lion mane and the right paw drawn close to chest is shown. |
