| Description / विवरण | This fragment is part of a herostone depicting the hero being carried to heaven after his demise, by two female celestials, a feature usually encountered in such herostones.The relief depicts the male figure at the centre resting his hands on the soulders of female figures shown on either side who in turn are holding him from the back in their right and left hand respectively whereas other raised hand rests on their head. As the surface is wornout due to weathering, details of ornaments and other facial features are not discernible except the outline of lower garment with frills suspended down between the legs.The posture of legs and flowing of garment indicate they are airborne.Relief may be ascribed to early chalukyan period on stylistic grounds. |
