| Description / विवरण | In this relief a door jamb having five vertical sections or shakas are depicted. Of these five shakhas the one to the extreme left is obliterated. The remaining four sections comprise row of animals which includes lion, tiger, winged horse with their tales rounded up,pilsters, scorlls with relief dwarf musicians within circles and row of full blown flowers. The base part of the door jamb is sculptured with the relief of a vaishnava dvarapala couple flanked by two female chauri whisker bearers shown standing next to the couple respectively and each shown within a pilasterd torana. All are shown standing in tribhanga. The male figure of dvarapala rests his left hand on the hilt of gada or mace where as the right hand is in abhaya posture. He wears kirita makuta and bejewelled with ornaments. The female counterpart standing to his left wears a crown and bedecked with ornaments, holds citron in the left hand and carries a lotus flower in her right hand. The chauri bearer to right is devoid of right hand due to damage where as in left hand she holds phala. Similarly the one standing to left holds chauri in the right hand. Both the attendants are decorated with crown and ornaments .All figures are shown with heavy lower garment held by decorated girdle. The makara torana above the figures depicts scrolls, birds terminating at the apex with kirtimukha relief.on stylistic grounds this relief may be ascribed to late-chalukyan period. |
