| Description / विवरण | This fragment is part of a door jamb of pancha shakha order depicting geomatrical and floral designs.The first shakha from the left is composed of diamonds arranged vertically and the intervening space is filled with petals.The second moulding depicts a row of creepers arranged in circles enclosing pot bellied dwarf figures shown holding flower buds.The third shakha is composed of pilaster motif having series of vertical and horizontal mouldings.The fourth one depicts twisted bead ropes and the fifth shakha is composed of lotus petals interspersed with row of beaded design. Such elaborate door jambs were prevalent during the late-chalukyan period. |
