| Description / विवरण | This is a semi-circular fragment of a broken amalaka. It has segments with ridges on the rim. On its top face, there are two square sockets. The amalaka is placed on top of the tower, or shikhara, of a temple. It represents a lotus, which is the seat of the deity, and it also symbolizes the sun. The amalaka serves as the gateway to the heavenly. |
