| Description / विवरण | Slab sculptured with eight principal scenes from the Buddha s life. Nativity in proper right lower corner. In proper left lower corner, Buddha s enlightenment and he is in Bhumi sparsa Mudra. In the proper right upper corner, Buddha s first sermon in the Deer park. In proper left upper corner, Buddha s demise at Kusinagara. In the panel beneath we find the Buddha s descent from the Trayastrimsa heaven at Sankasya. Beneath the Nirvana we have the miracle of Sravasti. Presentation of honey to Buddha by a monkey in the parileyyaka forest near Vaishali. The last scene, in the panel to the proper left of Buddha first ceremony, immediately above the enlightenment scene is the miracle of Rajagriha. |
