| Description / विवरण | The railing pillar is ornate and depicts a fragment of Chanpeya Jataka. Naga king Champeyya renounced his underworld kingdom and beautiful wife to meditate on an ant hill. He was caught by a snake charmer, who made him to dance to his tunes in many cities. Finally, he was reunited with his wife and son in the court of the King of Varanasi. The story is indicated by the ant hill, the dancing snake and his charmer. Since he was born later as Buddha, a bodhi tree is also shown. |
