| Description / विवरण | The lintel has three registers. Each one is separated by pilaster motif. The first one shows katyayani Mahishamardani riding on a lion attacking the Mahisa who is defiantly standing before her, the second register depicts Lingodbhavamurti flanked by Brahma on his right side and Vishnu on his left side and the last one portrays the abduction of Sita by Ravana, in which Sita sat on a chariot drawn by horses and Ravana on the ground fighting with Jatayuvu a bird . Ravana is shown with three faces, holding gada, with his fore hands and khadgha and shield in his upper left and right hands. There is an inscription on the upper part of the lintel in Telugu Kannada characters reading Mairddhambu, lingodhavambu, jadayuddhambu. |
