| Description / विवरण | This copper coin issued by Bahmani Sultan Ahmad Shah II 1435-57 A.D. is known as fulus i.e. coin of the lowest denomination among the three metal gold, silver and copper coinage of Bahmani Sultan. Obverse Three line persian legend reads ....Al-Mu tasim-billahi al-Mannan sami-Khalil al-Rahman.Reverse Four line legend mentions the title and name of the Sultan Ala-ud Dunya wad-Din Ahmad Shah bin Ahmad Shah al-Sultan. The date must have been written beneath the line as per the design and layout of this issue which is unfortunately not legible. This coin, as per the contemporary Persian sources, was minted at the capital-city-mint Ahsanabad i.e. Gulbarga in Karnataka . |
