| Description / विवरण | A small circular silver coin probably issued during the reign of Polekesi II 610-642A.D . Obverse Caprisoned boar head with long snout moving to left with three dots above the head and a stylized scroll design below the neck portion.Reverse Legend in cursive southern brahmi of 7th cent.A.D. character, reading clockwise, starting at 7 O clock de ra pa la nu shya shri sa tya shra... probably referring to the title of Polikesi II the Chalukyan ruler who bore the title Satyashraya . The relief of boar with long snout moving to right depicted at the centre of the coin is noteworthy. |
