| Description / विवरण | This is a Manuscript of Shahnama, Volume I, of Firdausi. The Shahnama also known as Book of Kings is an Epic Poem written by the Persian Poet Firdausi. The contents of Shahnama deals with legends and histories of Iranian Kings from primordial times to the Arab conquest of Iran in the 7th cent C.E. It is written in three successive stages The Mythical Stage; the Heroic or Legendary stage and the Historic stage. The first four pages of the Shahnama of this volume, is richly decorated and illuminated along with several seal impressions. There are ten illustrations in the Manuscript. The content of the Manuscript is written in Nastaliq characters. There is a total of 623 pages with leather binding and gold floral work. |
