| Description / विवरण | A palanquin made of wood, fitted with thin ivory planks on the base and painted showing some flower designs and birds like Peacock, Parrot, Mythological animals like Vyali etc. The palanquin is supported by one bended iron rod (Arch shaped). The rod is covered with cane work. The front side of the rod is fitted with a gold plated brass flat head. Silver laced silk cloth, partly damaged, is used as the canopy cover. Six silk velvet cushions with laced top adorn the seat (two circular, two cylindrical, one square and one mattress). The seat of the palanquin is woven with cotton tape. Also many laced hangings decorate the canopy and the handle. Two laced silk cloth, highly artistic, cover the front and rear side of the palanquin. Two pinnacles made of gold plated brass adorn the front and rear side of the canopy. The palanquin is seated on eight circular brass bases. |
