| Description / विवरण | A medium, circular and slightly convex sheild of iron alloy. There are four small gilded knobs in the center and the back side of is padded between the knobs. Front is badly rusted and the edges are rough. Back is also polished in black colour and there is some rusting. Front side of the shield is painted with mythological story of Visnu avtar of Narasinhma. This scene is set in palatial setting with pillars, arches and curtains clearly visible. Image of the deity is places in center and is surrounded by two devotees one man and a women on both sides. The center image of Narasinhma is seated with Hiryanakashya lying on his thighs with stomach torn and intestines visible. Background is painted with decorative foilage. The colour pallet is varied but is dominated by reds, orange, mustard and browns but other colours like black, blue, cream, white and green. |
