Description / विवरण | Four armed Vishnu in standing posture is carved completely in round with in the pilastered parikar supporting the miniature temples, Gandharva & Vidhyadhar. The deity is wearing usual ornaments besides the vanamala and yajnopavita finely executed. The halo is boldly carved with floral designs and lotus petals. His all the four hands are broken the deity stands on a padmapitha showing in front laxmi seated in lalitasana flanked by two nagi worshippers with folded hands. The figures are chopped off. On either side of the padmapitha two each devotees riding on maker holding kalasa are shown within the recessed niche. On the left of pedestal a kneeling devotee holding a garland and on the right a devotee in standing posture holding a insence burner are shown. The main deity is flanked by two chauribearer standing in tribhangamudra. Their faces and legs are broken. Next to chauri bearer are two ganas of the vishnu, their heads are also chopped off, one of them to the left of vishnu holds a padma in his left hand. The pilasters are decorated with chains, lotus flower supporting the miniature temples. The miniature temples show a vina dharini and a chakra dharini in the bhadra rathica surmounted by the four-chaitya window designs forming the curvilinear shikhar. The parikar part shows beautifully carved dasavtaras breaking the monotony of decoration by the elephant head, warriors, Vyal etc. The figure is badly weathered and decomposed. |
