| Description / विवरण | Hanuman is a very popular god among the rural and urban folk.In this relief Hanuman is shown in a moving posture.He has two arms.The right hand is lifted up with opened palm whereas the left hand carries a bunch of flowers, a feature commonly found in the sculptures of vijayanagara period. He is monkey faced and the eye is shown sideways. His hair is tied at the back with a knot. He is bedecked with ornaments such as three stranded vakshahara,keyura,skandhamala,channaveera and kankana.He wears a loin cloth.Thre right leg,part of waist is missing.Left leg is damaged.On stylistic grounds image may be ascribed to vijayanagara period. |
