| Description / विवरण | Goddess Saraswati seated in padmasana posture and in dhyana mudra meditation with legs crossed and the soles of the feet turned upwards resting on the thigh. The head is decorated with jata makuta with crescentic moon on the front. She has four hands. The right rear hand holds the trident, while the front rear is in chin mudra i.e the form of a circle inside which is inserted the rosary of beads aksha mala . The left rear holds a noose or staff and the front left holds a book in the palm. Around the neck are tight kanta malas and a long scarf like hara on both the shoulders which fall on the breasts. The loin is covered by a short lower garment ardhoruka with a central tassel. There are keyuras, kankanas, bahu valayas and bangles. All around the image is a prabhavali decorated with foliage patterns. |
