| Description / विवरण | Durga as mahishasura mardini trampling the demon Buffalo. She is eight armed four on either side. With the two front hands she holds the lance or spear in the act of piercing. Another front right hand is in abhaya mudra, while the left front hand is in varada mudra. Other objects held are trident, noose and akshamala. The head is decorated with karanda makuta. The ornaments are not clearly visible. Her drapery is short lower garment with folds. Her right foot is raised up and kept on the back of the buffalo. The demon Mahisha is not clearly seen. The image is less ornamented and suggests crude work manship. The face is oval in shape with abraded facial features |
